Each link
- 1. Real personNot stated
Person · Not stated
Still open: Contributors register with an email or SMS double opt-in and must be 18+; NATIX 'may require' more documents but documents no identity check. A support-led identity check existed for Drive& token withdrawals (app sunset April 2026); it is not applied to VX360 data.
- 2. Captured locallyNot stated
Camera · Not stated
Still open: Not a signed capture, so none (STANDARD §3). What is stated: VX360 copies footage from the Tesla's built-in exterior cameras (dashcam, Sentry Mode and VX360 clips); a Health Check flags non-unique clips. No signed capture or anti-injection method; NATIX is not on the C2PA conforming products list.
Place · Claimed. GPS from the phone and vehicle in metadata; GPS spoofing is banned and scored by the same per-kilometre GPS & Timestamp Evaluation.
Still open: Scoring thresholds are published but the method is not, and checks may be skipped. The whitepaper uses blockchain for incentives and governance, not to verify data.
Needs both: the weaker one counts.
- 3. Genuine deviceNot stated
App · Not stated
Still open: Data comes only through a VX360 device onboarded to the NATIX companion app, and the terms say NATIX 'may check the phone for exploits or unauthorized software', but no check that is run, and no device or app attestation, is documented; nothing in the delivered data proves which device made it. Capture in the provider's own app or rig is not a server-verified attestation (STANDARD §3).
- 4. Sealed captureNot stated
Content · Claimed. 'multiple data validation techniques to confirm the accuracy and authenticity of the data'; a Health Check removes non-unique or obstructed clips; VLMs index scenes.
Still open: The validation techniques are not named, and no per-delivery proof is described.
Counts only with a stated signing mechanism (C2PA, a manifest).
- 5. Known timestampReported
Time · Claimed. UTC timestamps in clip metadata; a 'GPS & Timestamp Evaluation' scores each kilometre for accurate, coherent metadata.
Still open: The time source is not documented, and the terms say checks are not guaranteed for every epoch or user and may be disabled.
A time stated, not attested (RFC 3161, a log): Reported.

Notes
About. Crowdsourced multi-camera (4-6 camera) driving video from Tesla owners who plug in NATIX's VX360 device, sold to Physical AI and autonomous-driving teams as raw footage with GPS, IMU and vehicle telemetry, VLM- and telemetry-mined edge cases, OpenSCENARIO/OpenDRIVE scenarios and map features. NATIX says it can run targeted collection for any region or location. Sales-led: data is requested through a form or [email protected]. The Drive& phone app was shut down on 1 July 2026, so phone dashcam data is no longer collected.
Price. 0 means not published. NATIX announced a 'six-figure' agreement for 3,000 hours of driving data (7 Oct 2026); that is one deal, not a price list. The $379 figure is the VX360 contributor device, not data.
Coverage. Tesla vehicles with a VX360 device only. Self-reported: 2,890,321 registered drivers, 1,932,230 km mapped, '165,000+' multi-camera hours (labelled 'monthly' on the home page, but NATIX's own blog gives about 198K-200K hours collected in total by Sept/Oct 2026, so read it as a total). Clips are not collected inside drivers' privacy zones, in sensitive locations (e.g. military sites, hospitals) or outside the time windows NATIX sets.
Timing. 'We can target any region or location. If you have data gaps and blindspots in a certain region, NATIX can help you with targeted data collection for the desired use-case.' No turnaround is stated.
Licence. No commercial licence terms for buyers are published; deals are by agreement, and NATIX describes the business as data licensing for training and validating Physical AI. Contributors keep ownership of their uploads and grant NATIX a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to make commercial products from them. NATIX's privacy notice says it does not sell, publish or share identifiable footage with third parties; faces and plates are blurred where technically feasible. Free sample datasets on Hugging Face are under the 'NATIX Data RAIL-NC' licence: gated, non-commercial, 12-month term, no redistribution. None of this states AI-training or resale rights for purchased or commissioned data.
